As we continue our recognition of the 250th Anniversary of the United States, the MSO is proud to invite you to the third installment in our season, art: unbound. This title is a commentary on the nature of music’s effectiveness being one that cannot be defined, contained, controlled, or governed. Its power lies in its interpretation by both the performer and audience alike. Join us at 2:00pm for a pre-concert discussion on this topic, as well as how this contributes to the shared vision of a community organization.
Our performance will celebrate the power of the individual, reflect on the world we inhabit, and honor the legacy and contributions of our 16th president. This program features our very own Erika Koscho as a soloist on Rachel Portman’s incredible new work, Tipping Points, as well as David Alberto Fernández, Takoma Park Poet Laureate, as our narrator for Copland’s iconic Lincoln Portrait.
We are so grateful for the opportunity to share our music with you and look forward to connecting with you on March 8!
